An Ancient Greek Computer

Among the treasures of the Greek National Archaelogical Museum in Athenas are the recently discovered remains of a complex scientific objet 2000 years old and that looks like a clock.
From the evidence of the fragments one can get a god idea of the appearance of the original object it has dials, able and very sophisticated assembly of gears that were mounted eccentrically in a turntable and they probably functioned as sort of epicyclic of differential gear-system, wheels and plates with long Greek inscriptions describing the operation and construction of the instrument. The mechanism now appears to be an old for calculating the motions of stars and planets.
Nothing like this instrument is preserved elsewhere. Nothing comparable to it is know. On the contrary, according to ancient literary allusions, such a device could nor exist. This surprising discovery of science and technology in the Hellenistic Age is now considered by historians as likely the very first computer.
